Krakow-Lviv in 2020: bus, train or direct flight
My name is Michael and I have been living in Poland for 4 years. I was born in Lviv and over the years, I have tried many routes from Krakow to Lviv and vice versa. The best is taking a train from Krakow to Lviv. It is cheap and convenient: you can sleep on the train at night, and in the morning, you can wander around the beautiful Lviv.
Although everyone chooses the option which looks best for him. The train is fairly priced and pretty comfortable.
However, more recently, low-cost airline Rayanair launched direct flights from Krakow to Lviv; I have not tried it yet, however, but I believe one can buy ticket for 15 euros if you buy in advance.

The distance from Krakow to Lviv is 350 km; it may seem that it is easy to do it in a day but it is not always that way. There is a chance to spend valuable time on customs, although there are not always traffic jams at the border. The route runs along the A4 highway, and it is free from Krakow to the border with Ukraine. The road is wide, new, clean and tidy. Forests along the road are fenced in so that wild animals do not run out onto the road; in settlements, the route is fenced with a transparent wall.
Hiring a car for a trip to Ukraine is possible, but yet expensive. Ukraine is not part of the European Union, so you need a power of attorney to cross the border, additional insurance and so on. Although there are representative offices of European rentals in Ukraine, the prices are too high. It is highly recommended to book a car in advance.
